Pamela Corcoran & Loren Brown
|
Today, we are writing regarding an additional enhancement to the Inn. On May 10th, we welcomed our new Innkeepers, Loren Brown and Pamela Corcoran of Bedford Virginia.
We found Loren and Pamela among 32 applicants mid April. Their combined experience brings us a wealth of knowledge and Hospitality. Loren has a background in all levels of construction, renewable technologies, landscaping and ecological property development. Pamela is a Chef whose interest is in medicinal plants and organic farming.
Among their positions were facility managers for an 80 acre compound with a 300 person residential capacity conforming to the standards of the American Camping Association, as well as culinary services at a Great Camp on Upper Saranac Lake. Both also provided caretaking services for a 55 acre off grid residential resort island for 50+ summer cottages, plus providing reports to the Homeowner's association and the U.S. Coast Guard for the established lighthouse and publicly owned land.
A Note from Loren and Pamela
We arrived safely from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia to start our tenure at the Irondequoit on Monday afternoon, May 10th. Bright sunshine and a meandering loon at the shore's edge made for a beautiful first walk of the grounds with Joe Finenko.
Loren's excited to assume the Innkeeper's helm strongly supported by Pamela's presence and diverse contributions. We expect to be very busy over the next several weeks attending to many administrative and building/ grounds projects in anticipation of the season's first guests.
We would love to hear from you about favorite Inn activities or strong family memories that will help us get to know you better. We invite you to stop in for a cup of tea and some reminiscing. Among their reasons for coming to Piseco is the environment and the history of the Inn.
We are truly excited about the direction the Inn is headed this summer. Our events include outings, assorted events in the Inn and on the lawn overlooking the lake, re-introduction of a weekend evening dinner and the resumption of our Sunday picnics plus several other events. Keep an eye on the daily activity sheet!
We look forward to new services that will keep people returning to the Inn and we welcome you to our 119th season - one that is sure to be memorable.
