I've been visiting the Irondequoit for the Colby family reunion since the mid 1970's. The front porch is always a great quiet observation point. And if you want to talk to others you can....or not. This year my 8 year old son took his first kayak trip attended by several cousins - predawn. They observed the biggest beaver lodge any of them had ever seen in many decades of visits. The beavers slapped the water so loudly on the otherwise silent lake they all jumped, I was told. We saw a full grown bear amble onto the property late the night before. If you want the wild, its right here folks. And from a very very comfortable and hospitable vantage point if you like...high up on the chairs on the front porch, or right down at lake level and the forest floor if you choose.

You have agreat website. I stayed at the Lodge in the Fall of 1994. Prior to that I had spent many days at Piseco Lake as a camper; and the pictures bring back great memories. I hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

I had come across the Irondequoit Inn by mere chance while surfing the web for a place to spend two nights in the Adirondacks. Our stay turned out to be one of my personal highlights. The beauty of the region, coupled with the relaxed and warm-hearted atmosphere at the inn truly enriched the feeling of vacationing and taking time-out. We will be back! And spend more time! Can't wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We were looking for a place at the end of our first day of traveling from Ohio on our Harley and ended up in Piesco, New York, searching for a campsite when we found the Irondequoit Inn. Staying at the Inn was the best part of our vacation, it was like staying with family. We definitely want to come back! Thank you Jodie, Craig, Jo and everyone at the Inn for the wonderful accommodations, and fantastic breakfast. It was like being with family and a honeymoon experience at the same time. Thank you again, Karen & Charlie Harris 8/11/07

We had such a GREAT time at the Irondequoit Inn on Columbus Day weekend! We kayaked up the stream that connects Piseco with Fall and Vly lakes. Thank you Eric and Liz for recommending this trip! What a spectacular trip! It was beyond what we normally go....but OH SOOO WORTH IT!!! The fall foliage was incredible, the beaver damns a challenge to our coordination and skill. We brought wine, cheese, crackers and hummus for lunch and found a great rock on the edge of Vly Lake to sit and enjoy the sun. We never found the spot that Liz and Eric were suggesting, but the place we found had enough warm fall sun to keep us toasty. It took us three hours to get to Vly, and at that point I thought it best to be towed back! Of course, Kathy, my kayaking buddy, didn't think it was such a good idea (for me to grab the back of her kayak) but it sure was fun!! Enjoy your trip to Irondequoit - every time we've been there - during different seasons, is wonderful!

Just downloaded one of your winter wallpapers. I am cooler already! It is July 14th - about 80 plus degrees here in Hudson, NY. I have spent many happy days at the Irongdequoit in the past as well as in around Piseco. Still love it and hope to come back soon. Ruth Moser

The four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) loved Cabin #2. The view was amazing, we had 7 wonderful canoe trips, thoroughly enjoyed the rec room, and had a great breakfast on Sunday morning. They even have a good library. We took several lengthy walks just on the grounds.

Craig and Jodie were very helpful. They recommended some wonderful hikes, including Panther Mountain, and the Mill Stream trail right off the property. We cooked a bunch of meals, but also ate great at the Oxbow, The Inn at Speculator, and Swifty's. The wife and I are already talking about returning for our anniversary.

Several of my Marines and I stayed at the Irondequoit Inn. Jodi and Craig are two of the greatest people you could ever meet. Everything about the Irondequoit Inn was incredible! The surroundings were beautiful and I cant wait to bring my wife and kids up there sometime this summer. The pancakes are a must for anyone staying there. Jodi and Craig, thank you for everything!

Our weekend in October gave us a cross-section of weather. Friday was autumnal splendor in all its glory! Saturday was misty and turned to the pattering of rain on the roof while sitting by the fireplace. Sunday morning we awoke to snow! What a beautiful time to reconnect with nature and gracious hospitality. Jodie and Craig were perfect hosts and the visit with other guests from France sparked the gentle art of relaxed conversation. No TV, no phones, just the call of loons, the crackle of the fire and breezes off the lake! Truly heaven with earthbound angels running the Inn! THANKS!

We had our father's memorial here given our longtime family contacts in Piseco. The extreme beauty of the location, the charm and comfort of the Inn, and the hospitality of Craig and Jody made the event moving and memorable for all. Thanks Craig and Jody for an unforgettable stay.

My husband and I held our wedding reception in this piece of Heaven called the Irondequoit Inn. Jodi and Craig went above and beyond to ensure a perfect day. Their exceptional attention to detail and phenomenal work ethic made the entire process flow smoothly. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts. Our friends and family that traveled to Piseco for the first time are now excited to return for another stay in the antique filled rooms. I highly recommend a week long stay (or a wedding!) in the picturesque Adirondacks.

Piseco Lake in the Adirondack Mts. is a place that renews my body--mentally, physically, and spiritually. Time spent at the inn and the surrounding countryside leads me to inner contentment and a renewed excitement in living. It is as if the 'good fairy' that Rachel Carson refers to in her book "Sense of Wonder" finds me and provides me with "....a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life, as an unfailing antidote aginast the bordom and disenchantments of later years, the sterile preoccupation with things that are artificial, the alienation form the sources of our strength." Time in the mountains is time with nature and touching the hand of God.
